If you have a new Keurig® 2.0 brewer, then you may be one of the many consumers who have become frustrated because you can only brew coffees marked with the Keurig® logo. The makers of San Francisco Bay Coffee have a solution they call the Freedom Clip. It’s a small plastic clip that inserts into the underside of the brewer’s lid and tricks the brewer into thinking any cup is an “Authorized K-Cup®.” At the time of this post, they are offering the Freedom Clip free of charge so get one while you can!
There’s a video tutorial over at KeurigHack.com that walks you through hacking the 2.0 brewer using only a small piece of tape and a used K-Cup® lid. It’s super easy and if you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll love the theme music!
The whole Keurig® 2.0 compatibility issue will soon be a moot point. Currently, most of the major competing coffee brands have already figured out the technology and are manufacturing their own 2.0 compatible cups. These are beginning to arrive now and should be available in most selections by Fall 2015.

“The French Press” – I’m sure you’ve heard of it, whether in discussion at a coffee shop or over conversation between two coffee connoisseurs, but what is it really? Is the French Press really anything special?
The answer to your question in short is yes it truly is, and here is why:
Lets think about regular coffee for a second: you put water and coffee in the coffee maker, turn it on, and the grounds are filtered through the paper filter, leaving you with a pot of coffee at the end of the process. Myth #1: Coffee always causes stress

In terms of urinating, coffee (caffeine) is a mild diuretic, which means it causes you to lose water. This explains why most people have to pee soon after they drink a cup of coffee (similar to the effects of alcohol). Additionally, lets not be coy: coffee makes most people poop, but why? Researchers are a bit unclear as to why coffee is directly correlated to increased bowel movements as extensive studies on the matter have yet to be conducted. Scientists do however have some generalized findings that could help explain the phenomenon: Coffee may cause something called peristalsis, which is the typical relaxation and contraction of the colon when producing a bowel movement. By speeding up this process, the colon therefore has less time to reabsorb the water within the stool, which explains why most coffee-induced bowel movements are “looser “in nature.

Myth #5: Caffeine is extremely addictive

Therefore, drinking something that will flush you of even more fluids and only further dehydrate you, will likely only perpetuate your hangover and the symptoms you’re feeling.
Myth #7: Coffee can help to sober you up faster
In a study published in the Journal of Behavioral Neuroscience, researchers performed an experiment on mice, feeding them a sufficient amount of alcohol followed by a sufficient amount of coffee in order to test its “sobering” effects. After both the alcohol and coffee were ingested, the researchers had the mice perform the task of working through a maze. While the coffee did appear to make the mice more alert than they had proven to be pre-coffee, they still had a great deal of trouble navigating the maze as compared to the other, untainted group of mice. The takeaway? While coffee might make you feel more “with it” the fact of the matter is that you’re not, and only time will make you sober.
